Now coming to you from Minnesota!

Ok, ok, you must all know that I was planning to move to Minnesota. Well, I finally did! Wooooo!

I've been here a week after a SHIPalicious 4 day drive with my pops last week. It was his idea and the highlight of his year so far I'm sure, ;). The drive was fun and leisurely (as much as driving 500 miles a day can be) yet it wasn't until mile, OH, 1950 (out of a possible 2000) that he started asking me stuff like "so what kind of career do you want," "what are your life dreams and goals," and other such nonsense. Next time we do a 2k drive I'm going to suggest that we write-up like 5-10 questions before the trip and discuss them for hours and hours and . . . or I could just listen to Harry Potter like I did this trip, lol.

Speaking of awesome somewhat-children's stories. My main midget, the Big Seany K, Uncle Kilroy himself, has started and successfully out-blogged me in 2008 thus far. Seein' him pwn and prosper and shoot vultures from his back porch has inspired me to get back to teh blogasaurus rex.

So, right, I'm here in MN with my awesome lil' cute, sexy, smart, funny, 'whelming, gf. But, a few things are missing:

1) a job. yes, prolly time to "get a job young sir"
2) 75% of mah stuffs -- most notably my legendary Q-sized bed and mesmerizing plasma tv
3) all the homiez I made in the OC - <3 all over

Well, today I got something from the unemployment ppl saying my application (which I filled out a week after I stopped working, doh!) was approved. Wheeee! FREE MONIEZ GOGOGO BANANA! So that helps with #1. Furthermore, I really want to find my inner purpose, with or without a new job. I was making tons of progress early last year abut kinda got off track when I jumped on my pwnasaur sometime after my Europe trip.

I have to admit I'm kind of waiting for the rest of my things, which will be a big project and also help me feel like I really do (pinch pinch) live here back in MN now. Oh, but I've been exercising and belong to Bally's here. So that has kept me grounded and gotten me out of the house every day.

Hrrmmm, I am completely rambling but it's my blog and I have 234234234 months of rambly rambleson to get rid of.

Oh yah, since I've spent much of the last few months in a v transitional mindset, I stopped making short-term and long-term goals. I will lay some of them out (and/or come up with some) via this blog.

I just read "The Intergral Vision" by Ken Wilber which is all about AQAL and IOS and your mom, my mom, elephants, and the Universe. Something about it seemed kinda forced but I can't explain why yet. I'll write about that later.

Btw, I'm bolding all future blog ideas to help stay on track and actually keep posting. Oh and so my blog is interactive, here is a poll:

Should PT Smooth:
a) get an AE job in advertising
b) lock-in to poker for 6 hours/day
c) seriously consider going back to the academic world
d) take a bunch of 'shroom laden along Minnehaha Parkway and swims in Diamond Lake
e) oh wait, no one is going to read this entry b/c I haven't blogged in 234235235 times

I'm glad you're blogging again too, However, when you say "Speaking of awesome somewhat-children's stories" do you mean that the stories are somewhat for children or somewhat awesome. If it's the former I'm cool with that but if it's the latter then you'll have some 'splainin' to do!

All kidding aside, great to see you back in the saddle!

To answer your questions, I think you should follow your gut but make sure that your head doesn't call 911. By that I mean that you should do what feels right, follow your passions but don't do anything too nuts, like those weirdos who have compulsions to amputate their own healthy limbs. :)

That said, I think you're a great person to have in the world of advertising. You get big concepts. You're bright, analytical, creative and most importantly, able to relate to many types of people. Plus, I have a selfish reason - I like working with sharp people!

Clearly you have passion for several things - advertising, poker, et al. I think the deciding factor for what path you take should be which of these passions do you have the MOST passion for. Which one will you find MOST interesting 52 weeks a year?

Glad to see you blogging again! Fuckin' A.
